Volunteer With Us

Volunteer on your own or as part of a group. No racing experience is required, and every role helps create a safer, more welcoming event for thousands of participants.

Everyone Is Welcome

You do not need to belong to a group to volunteer. Individuals may sign up independently. School, club, team, nonprofit, workplace and community-group members should each register separately and enter the same group name so every completed shift receives proper credit.

Openings and shift availability are updated through RunSignup. Select a position there to see its current date, time, meeting location and instructions.

Volunteer Roles

Assignments support both pre-race preparation and race-day operations.

  • Packet Pickup
    Help distribute race packets and assist with merchandise at Talyard Brewing Co. on Friday or Saturday before the race.
  • Race-Morning Support
    Assist with race-morning packet pickup, parking guidance, the start/finish area or post-race operations at Smart Financial Centre.
  • Water Stops
    Set up an assigned hydration station, prepare cups, serve runners, keep the station organized and clean up afterward.
  • Race Guides
    Qualified volunteers may support pre-arranged participants as guides. Review the open guide positions and requirements during registration.
Plan ahead: Volunteers should arrive at least 15 minutes before the posted shift unless their assignment provides an earlier arrival instruction. Detailed information is emailed during race week.
How It Works

Three Simple Steps

Register as an individual or identify the organization you represent so your shift can be counted toward a group donation.

    Register Online
    Every volunteer must complete an individual registration through the official RunSignup volunteer page and select an available shift.
  2. 2
    Name Your Group
    If you represent a club, team, school or organization, enter its name during registration. Ask every member to use the same group name.
  3. 3
    Complete Your Shift
    Arrive on time, check in, remain for the full assignment and check out with the volunteer coordinator or area director.
Group Donation Program

Volunteer Together. Earn Support for Your Group.

Large groups help fill essential event positions and may earn a donation when members complete the program requirements.

Donation Eligibility & Payment

Each person’s completed shift counts toward the group total only when the registration and attendance requirements are met.

  • Minimum Participation
    A group becomes eligible after completing at least 6 volunteer shifts.
  • Donation Rate
    Eligible groups earn $15 for each completed shift. For example, 12 volunteers completing 12 shifts earns $180.
  • Required Registration
    Every member must register online individually and enter the group’s consistent name during signup.
  • Shift Completion
    Members must be on time, complete the full shift, and check in and out with the volunteer coordinator or assigned area director.
  • Payment Timing
    Checks are mailed after volunteer hours are verified. Allow approximately 4–6 weeks for processing.

Important: A volunteer who does not register correctly, arrive on time, complete the full shift, or check in and out may be excluded from the group’s donation total.
